But I think these days the mouses can handle that. With the touchpad mouse, I can lift my finger up while my thumb double-clicks. The double-click didn't work because the mouse moved slightly between clicks. One of the problems I was having, is that is was hard to hold the mouse still during a double-click. But when I first started using a computer (maybe 15 to 20 years ago) I had to stop using a traditional mouse, and started using a touchpad mouse. I think mouses are designed better these days. I suppose your mouse is functioning properly in other programs? Double-click works fine anywhere else? (Just fyi, for me, the picture you're using for your profile is almost entirely black. (The info is approx a fourth of the way down the page.)

INKSCAPE ROTATE MANUAL
There are a few more tricks you can do with that button, and this page of the manual covers the details. (Or select the nodes first, and then click the button - either way works.) Click a 2nd time on any one of the selected nodes, to switch the arrows to rotate mode. Then, select the nodes, and you will see the 4 arrows. Let us know if you can't find it, and we can tell you how. It might actually not be visible, if you're using a smaller screen. Then click the "Show transformation handles." button, which is toward the right end of the control bar. To rotate selected nodes, enable the Node tool. I can think of plenty of ways to place it in a particular spot along the path, just not move it along, without distorting the path. Then with snapping (to guides) enabled, you'll be able to drag it along the path.īut if the path is curved.well, I can't think of any way to actually move it along the line. If it's straight but diagonal, you could duplicate it, then use Object menu > Object to Guide. If the path is perfectly horizontal or vertical, you can hold the Ctrl key while you drag the node, to restrain the movement to vertical or horizontal. If the path is perfectly straight, there will be a way to move a node along it.
